Knowledge:Composite stainless steel made of 21% chromium,2.5% molybdenum and
4.5% nickel - nitrogen alloy.It has high strength, good impact toughness and good overall and
local stress corrosion resistance.The yield strength of dual-phase stainless steels is twice that of
austenitic stainless steels, a property that allows designers to
design products with less weight, giving this alloy a price
advantage over 316,317L.This alloy is particularly suitable for the temperature range of
-50°F/+600°F.For applications beyond this temperature range, this alloy may also
be considered, but there are some limitations, especially when
applied to welded structures.Duplex stainless steels have twice as much compressive strength as
austenitic stainless steels, allowing designers to reduce their
weight compared to 316L and 317L.The alloy is particularly suitable for use in the temperature range
of -- 50°F/+600°F, and can also be used at lower temperatures under
severe restrictions (especially for welded structures).
